1991 Baton Rouge Morning Advocate --Allow 3-4 minutes to download.

This 1991 news article features a day of observation of our family homeschooling by a national well known reporter and a photographer of the Baton Rouge Morning Advocate staff .

We met the photographer at a local CHEF graduation/ science fair in Baton Rouge. He shared how he was interested in doing a series on the homeschool movement and requested some photos of our family. We invited him to come for a visit; but, when he called he requested that a reporter come, also.

We felt comfortable with photos, but could a nationally known reporter be trusted? Even though the homeschool movement in LA. had counseled all homeschoolers not to open their doors to reporters and such, we decided to open our home for the purpose of being a witness for Christ. God confirmed this decision with the scripture, "But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you." Matthew 10:19-20.

As a result, the two men witnessed our family praying to God aloud and study Romans, Chapter I. The photographer came to our house again to hear more of the gospel. Though no decision was made by either to accept Christ as Lord and Savior, we believe seeds were planted in their hearts.
